Following my delicious lunch at The Cake Cafe, I dropped into Wall & Keogh, situated on Richmond Street on Portobello. Again, I had heard a lot about it so when I found myself in the area, went in to find out more.
The first thing that hits you walking into the shop is the beautiful aroma of the various tea’s. They are in large glass jars, and we were encouraged to open the lid and give the lid a sniff to get an idea of the varieties.
It is a cafe /teashop with a number of nicely furnished area’s inside and outside to sit down, enjoy your tea and maybe have a cake or a sandwich.
We were talked through some of the teas on offer by the owner Oliver, who is obviously very enthuastic about his tea. For tea novices it is the perfect place to learn more about them.
We took away a tea ball for holding the leaves in your cup or teapot, some English breakfast tea and Darjeeling although given the range on offer I think I opted for some of the safest so the next time I will have to go back and try the Pur Eh with Guarana, or Kumbacha with Peaches (just two of the more exciting varieties on offer).
Another gorgeous little addition to the Portobello area.
